If Carlsberg (or any other premium lager brand!) did British autumn mornings, it would look a lot like Sunday 23rd October 2016 at Springwater Golf Club in Calverton in Nottinghamshire.
Picture the scene; the trees adorned with dazzling shades of orange, red and yellow, the bluest of skies and the sun shining as if it had forgotten winter was just around the corner. Then, against the backdrop of birdsong, the sweet sound of a golf ball being driven cleanly off the first tee. Yes, it was charity competition day at Springwater Golf Club in Nottingham!
Clear Blue Skies Group were invited to sponsor this exciting event and we were only too happy to give our support once again to the Club Captain, Graham Roberts’, chosen charity Alzheimer Society UK. Having recently sponsored the first hole of the golf club’s magnificent 18 hole course, the Clear Blue Skies team set up a mini-exhibition in the clubhouse to introduce themselves and get to know some of the members of Springwater, and share their Tenerife property expertise with them.
The day was made all the more exciting thanks to the participation of a group of ex-professional Nottingham Forest and Notts County footballers and managers. Special thanks to Liam O’Kane, Frank Clark, Nigel Jemson, Alan Hill, Les Bradd and Seamus McDonagh, and special congratulations to their team of 4 golfers who won the overall competition and collect the inaugural Seve Springwater Trophy! Well done guys, another trophy for the cabinet!
Springwater Golf Club also took the opportunity following the competition to officially open their new “Seve Suite”, a function room dedicated to the memory of the incredibly talented and well loved Spanish golfer Seve Ballesteros. The suite is a tasteful tribute to a golf legend and it’s walls are adorned with photos of some of the most iconic moments of his career. The Spanish theme continued into the afternoon as tapas and cava were enjoyed by all and the Clear Blue Team felt quite at home amongst all the chorizo and gambas! It could almost have been Tenerife, the only thing missing was about 15 more degrees Celsius.
After a wonderful day, Clear Blue Skies Group, together with Springwater’s President Neil Footitt and Operations Manager Dave Pullan were delighted to announce that £1040 had been raised for this very worthy cause.
