To finish our holidays in South Tenerife, we decided to get local and to do what the locals do.
First, we went to the Beer Fest taking place in Los Abrigos, a very nice fishing village in Granadilla municipality. Los Abrigos has a fantastic selection of fish and sea food restaurants on its bay. For this fest, all bars and restaurants there offer a selection of drinks and tapas for only 1 €!!!!
It was quite busy in Los Abrigos. No need to say that we did a very good use of our time there. Just for a few euros we all had a great meal.
The day was so good that after lunch we enjoyed sunbathing and swimming in its little bay.
The last day of our holidays we paid a visit to Mount Teide. We chose the leisure area of Las Lajas, close to Vilaflor (the highest municipality in Spain) to meet some friends and have a barbecue there.
Mount Teide National Park offers a few leisure areas with free picnic tables and stone barbecues, football pitches, kids playgrounds and bars. There are no restaurants up there so you have to take your own food with you. Don’t worry if you miss something or you don’t know how to start a barbecue, Canarian people are very friendly and they will give you all the help you need. These leisure areas are a great way to spend the day in the mountain enjoying your cooking abilities and the impressive mountain landscapes.
Well, my holidays are finished now but I hope to be out there soon enjoying Tenerife at its best.
